Welcome to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Communications and Emergency 911 Center.  Your 911 center employs seventeen very dedicated, hard-working men and women that provide an excellent service to their community.

The dispatching responsibilities include call taking and dispatching for the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, Bluff City Police Department, 10 volunteer fire departments, 6 rescue and first responder agencies, and Sullivan County EMS units. The Center has been immensely successful in its efforts. The communicatons center is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

The Center dispatches approximately 105,000 calls each year. The skills of our employees and the training they receive are among some of the most comprehensive in our area. We are proud of the high expectations our dispatchers set for themselves. All dispatchers are certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch, the National Crime Information Center through the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation, certified in CPR, and maintain a high level of training in the operation of TDD/TTY to provide services for the hearing - impaired community and citizens who are unable to speak.

Communications employees are responsible for making timely and accurate entries into the NCIC/TCIC systems, as prescribed by procedures set forth by the FBI and TBI. Communications employees are also responsible for entries into the NCIC Wanted Persons, Missing Persons and National Order of Protection Files and the duties that pertain to such entries. The dispatchers are also responsible for entries into the TCIC Missing Children of Tennessee and State of Tennessee Order of Protection Files. They must maintain these files and ensure they are active through the courts before entry and again at 90 day and 1 year intervals. They are responsible for checking active warrants for agency personnel, other agencies, and the public Monday through Friday after 6PM and all weekend hours.
